Library Materials Due Date
The final due date of the school year for library materials was Monday, May 12th.  Please return all library materials and pay any library fines.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Emmenegger at 408-481-9900 x233 or lemmenegger@tka.org.  In-library use of library materials is allowed through the last day of school – and our library subscription online databases and eBooks are available 24/7, 12 months/year.

TKA School Card
TKA is providing the capability of using Student ID cards to purchase food at the Knights Café.  As of April 25, parents can go online to activate and fund their Student’s ID card.  To create your student’s online account visit http://ocmp.com/SchoolsAbout.aspx?id=81.

Login: 4-digit Student ID #
Password: Last name (all in lower case).

Students will need to have a new ID card printed at the Student Store after they create their online account.

What does this mean for TKA parents & students?
For students, this gives them the convenience and freedom of having a cashless system that works via their Student ID cards. For parents, this will help give the peace of mind that your student has ample funds to eat, the control of knowing what your money is going towards, and the ability to help your student budget their money.  If you have any questions, please contact Carol Schultz at cschultz@tka.org. For more info about the program visit: www.ocmp.com.

World Vision AIDS Caregiver Kits

We wanted to thank you all once again for your support of this project.  Both Friday (unloading & setting up) and Saturday (the actual kit build) were beautiful events.  There was a spirit of cooperation and a sense of unity that crossed every age group.  Thanks to Nancy Rosa and the team from World Vision for helping make this a successful and organized event.  Thanks to the entire JV Baseball team and Coach D for working until we finished on Friday evening!

On both days, the World Vision folks took photos and have already put together a wonderful video!  They’ve just sent me the link: http://wvcaregiverkits.ning.com/video/video/show?id=873337%3AVideo%3A4922

Click on the Videos tab. The Email to login is: caregiverkits@tka.org. The password is: caregiver .  Turn the sound up and click on The King's Academy 2008!   FYI – we are the first private school in the nation to raise funds ($28,000) and build caregiver kits.  All TKA images on the site will now be edited and used by World Vision to bring this mission to schools.  Palo Alto HS was the first public school.

Thanks be to God,
Geralyn Giese & Karen de Smidt

Notes from the SAO
Tardiness is the number one disciplinary issue at TKA. Read about this and the other popular disciplinary issues students are facing even though they are mentioned in the student handbook.

  • Tardiness is the number one disciplinary issue at TKA. Students arriving to homeroom after the 8:00 AM bell are considered tardy and must get a Tardy/Admit slip from the SAO. Upon reaching the 7th tardy, students will be required to attend a 4-hour session of Saturday school.
  • Tardiness or absences concerning traffic, oversleeping, or missing a carpool are unexcused.
  • Telephone calls from parents are required for every absence from school and must be reported to the SAO and not to the student’s teachers.
  • Please call the SAO by 8:15 AM if you plan to sign your student out during the school day.
  • Illness? Students MUST be free of all symptoms (i.e. fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) for 24 hours before being allowed to return to school.

From the Business Office
When submitting checks to TKA, please drop off your payment to the Main Office (not the SAO) in an envelope marked with your student’s name, then on the memo line write both the student’s name and the purpose for that payment.
