The King’s Academy places a high value on guiding students through the academic and college planning process. Through the process, students become more aware of the significance of their unique set of talents and strengths. The goal of enabling them to use their God-given gifts to pursue their life’s calling with confidence and maturity is a primary part of our mission. In the end, students feel confident selecting the college or university that best matches their personal, career and life goals.
The Academic and College Planning program begins in the freshman year and emphasizes a sound foundation for academic and extracurricular planning. A personal appointment with their counselor and parents is assigned during the course of the sophomore year to review progress and refine course selection and academic focus. Students continue with the same counselor until the second semester of their junior year. Beginning in January of the junior year, each student is assigned a personal college counselor who remains with the student through the senior year for college admissions advice and guidance.
Our comprehensive program includes informational presentations for parents at each grade level, individualized counseling, and state-of-the-art tools for our students and families to navigate the college admissions process successfully.
By asking the right type of questions, and through careful introspection and consideration, we can work together to find a set of colleges and universities that are best aligned with your child's academic and extracurricular interests, career aspirations and financial aid requirements. One of our primary goals is to help students find the best "fit" - institutions where they will be successful and happy during the next important phase of their lives.
