The Knights Annual Fund

Each morning, when most students at TKA are beginning their classes for the day, Mr. Dick Giese is zipping around in his golf cart repairing and improving TKA’s campus. Keeping up with over 900 students can be exhausting, and there is much work to be done. But Mr. Giese’s role goes far beyond his title of Facilities Manager. His foremost priority is to love the students.

The students at TKA are Mr. Giese’s mission field. He states his philosophy this way: “Each day, I try to make these kids the center of the universe. After all, to our Father, they are absolutely essential - each and every one.”  So, a typical day for Mr. Giese includes more than a list of tasks keeping up with our facilities. You’ll  find him encouraging students in his senior home group; mentoring seniors as a class advisor;   playing soccer with our sixth grade pixies at lunch; and, of course, there is Mr. Giese’s “drive-by” ministry, greeting each student by name and cracking corny jokes, all while driving his cart to the next facilities task on his list. This is but a small window into Mr. Giese’s ministry.

Twenty years ago, TKA was created as a Christ-centered school where students would be well-educated but also well-loved and supported in navigating the rite of passage that is adolescence. Our mission is not just to educate, but to transform lives through incarnational interpersonal relationships between the staff and the students. This is what distinguishes TKA from other schools

The Knights Annual Fund supports our TKA staff by augmenting the salary gap, providing bonuses and    professional opportunities. In addition, the Knights Annual Fund supports families in need by providing student scholarships.  By giving, you are making a statement of support in the ministry of TKA’s teachers and students. Our goal is 100% participation by TKA families.

• Student Scholarships
