knights annual fund

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why does TKA have an Annual Fund?

A: Tuition alone does not cover the cost of an independent school education. A successful Annual Fund, supported by a large percentage of TKA’s community, directly contributes to the experience students have at TKA.

Q: Why not raise tuition instead of asking for support?

A: The School Board tries to keep tuition as low as possible so as many families as possible can afford TKA’s Christ-centered education. At the same time, we seek to maintain the excellence of our academic, spiritual life, and co-curricular programs. Charitable contributions, which are tax-deductible, help us achieve both goals.

Q: I pay tuition, why am I asked to give more?

A: By helping to offer enhancements beyond what tuition covers, your gift to the Annual Fund directly influences the educational experience students have at TKA. The availability of more resources equals access to more families. Also, contributions to the Knights Annual Fund are tax-deductible, whereas tuition payments are not. When you donate to the Annual Fund you help keep tuition payments lower and your gift entitles you to a tax benefit.

Q: How much am I expected to give?

A: TKA's goal is 100% participation by all staff, Board members, and families. Every dollar makes a difference, and every student benefits.  It is our hope that all stakeholders in the success of TKA will prayerfully discern a meaningful amount to donate. More than anything, we truly value your participation in the annual fund drive.

Q: Can I give a one-time donation instead of monthly?

A:  Absolutely! You may give a one-time donation, if that is more convenient for you.

Q: What if I can’t give at this time?

A: There are ways we can help. You can pledge now and defer payment until later.  Please contact Josephine Loy in our Development Office for assistance.

Q: Do matching gifts count?

A: Yes. You can double or triple the impact of your gift to TKA by checking with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program. Here is a list of the companies who have matched gifts to TKA.

Q: Who do I contact if I have further questions?
