When students join the Knights Brigade, they become an integral part of a team. Through Band, students become proficient on their instrument and learn what it takes to perform in a variety of settings.  All Band members participate in a summer camp to polish their skills and participate in team building activities.


Courses Offered

Beginning Band                                       Year 7-12

Beginning Band is for students who have limited experience playing a standard band instrument.  Students will be prepared for entrance into Knights Brigade Marching Band and Concert Band.  Students may rent or purchase an instrument. 

Knights Brigade/ Concert Band                 Year 7-8
The class is designed for students with intermediate to advanced performance level. Students will incorporate easy to medium level literature in their repertoire and will perform publicly each semester in parades, school sports rallies, pep band and concerts. Competitions will be included in the schedule as well as playing at sporting events.  Students will be required to own or rent an instrument for this course.
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Beginning Band, 6th grade band or teacher approval. Students must be able to read music. Summer band camp is required.

Knights Brigade/ Wind Ensemble              Year 9-12
The class is designed for students with intermediate to advanced performance level. Students will incorporate medium to difficult level literature in their repertoire and will perform publicly each semester in parades, school sports rallies, pep band and concerts. Competitions will be included in the schedule as well as playing at sporting events.  Students will be required to own or rent an instrument for this course.
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Beginning Band or teacher approval. Students must be able to read music. Summer band camp is required.

Knights Brigade/ Percussion Ensemble     Year 8-12
The class is designed for students with intermediate to advanced performance level. Students will incorporate medium – difficult level literature in their repertoire and will perform publicly each semester in parades, school sports rallies, pep band and concerts. Competitions will be included in the schedule as well as playing at sporting events.  Students will be required to own their own practice pad, mallets and drum sticks for this course.
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Beginning Band or teacher approval. Admission is determined by audition. Students must be able to read music. Summer Drum Camp is required.
