The King’s Academy Recognized as Apple Distinguished School

SUNNYVALE, Calif, October 3, 2022— The King's Academy is pleased to announce that it has been selected as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022–2025. TKA is recognized for its innovative 1:1 technology program and for integrating technology into the curriculum to enhance the student-learning experience. Notable technology integrations include the application of Pages to create infographics, iMovie to create multimedia presentations, and GarageBand to create podcasts. Every TKA classroom is equipped with the latest Apple TV 4K. Other accomplishments include:

  • 95% of faculty obtained Apple Teacher Certification in the 2021-22 school year and were trained to use Apple products and tools.
     
  • 96% of faculty met their technology goal to integrate new software into their lessons in the 2021-2022 school year.
     
  • Newly-developed technology scope and sequence criteria provide grade-level and content goals, so students will be well-rounded digital citizens upon graduation. 
     
  • A full-time Educational Technology Specialist on staff since 2018 to train and support teachers.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

Scott Meadows, Head of School, initiated TKA's one-to-one technology program in August 2016. He remarked,
