No, tuition assistance does not cover other costs such as textbooks, school trips, athletic fees, Visual & Performing Arts fees, etc.

No. The tuition assistance decision is made independently from admission decisions.

Prospective families must apply for admission to the school before applying for tuition assistance. Tuition Assistance applications, for new students, should be submitted within 7 days of submitting the admission application

Returning students must submit their tuition assistance application no later than January 31st for the next school year. 

New students: The Tuition Assistance application may be completed as soon as you've submitted your TKA admission application. The deadline for Tuition Assistance Applications for the 2024-2025 school year is no later than 7 days following your acceptance offer.

We highly encourage all families to apply for tuition assistance early as the funds are limited and allocated as TKA receives applications.

You will need your 2023 tax return and 2023 W2s. 

Your cooperation in filing by the deadline assists in fairly distributing aid to all families in need. However, we do consider applications filed outside of the regular cycle. Please remember that the tuition assistance funds are limited each year, so the best chance of receiving an award is to file as early as possible. 

TKA awards tuition assistance based on a family’s demonstrated financial need. Awards are based on a comprehensive analysis of a family’s total income (taxable as well as non-taxable) as well as a family’s cash assets.

Please note that the tuition assistance application must include both parent’s information even if the parents are divorced. Applications that don’t include the non-custodial parent’s income and cash assets may be denied.

Every analysis takes into account that family’s unique situation.

The matrix awards anywhere from 0% to 50%, depending on a family’s total income. You can use our tuition assistance calculator (currently in development) to get an estimate of what, if any, assistance you may qualify for.

We are committed to helping our enrolled students continue at TKA. Tuition assistance is awarded annually and is based on demonstrated need; therefore, families must complete a new application and submit all required documentation to be considered. Tuition Assistance applications for returning TKA students must be submitted no later than January 31, 2024.

Our program is designed to provide stability and predictability for families, year over year. Most families in the financial aid program stay in the program throughout their children’s years at TKA. If your financial profile remains approximately the same from year to year, you will likely continue to qualify for aid. Some families do experience a positive change in circumstances and will find that they no longer qualify for assistance. Returning families must apply for assistance annually so that we have the most current and complete picture of overall needs.

Absolutely. TKA stresses confidentiality in all matters relating to tuition assistance. Only the Tuition Assistance Committee has access to a family’s financial information. This information is never shared outside of this small team. We uphold the highest standard of confidentiality in the management of each and every family’s case.

Loss of income is one of the most stressful situations families can face. If you lose your job, we encourage you to apply for tuition assistance. It is TKA’s goal to help your family stay enrolled through difficult times. We will do everything we can to provide temporary assistance during a crisis like being unemployed.

TKA expects that both parents (if at all possible) will participate fully – academically and financially – in the child’s education. TKA requires both parents to complete an application for tuition assistance. We are happy to assist both parents, together or individually, in understanding how the program works for divorced or separated parents.

If the non-custodial parent is either not involved in financially supporting the student or is deceased, then a supplemental declaration must be filled out in order to complete your tuition assistance application. This declaration can be accessed within the FACTS tuition assistance application.
