​A panel of California admissions professionals will address the seismic shift in college admissions since the beginning of the pandemic and what the current landscape for applicants looks like.  Our experts from Cal, Stanford and Cal Tech discuss what has changed, what remains the same, and what to expect going forward for high school students applying to college.

​Yamilet Medina Lopez is the Assistant Dean of Diversity Outreach and External Relations at Stanford University. Prior to that, she was the Associate Dean of Diversity at the University of Southern California. With more than 15 years in the field of higher education, Yamilet’s work focuses on the complexities of intersectionality and how folx leverage their strengths by showing up authentically imperfect in their lives. She is the co-founder of the online Facebook group “Wonder Women in Admission.”

​Olufemi "Femi" Ogundele is the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Dean of Undergraduate Admission at the University of California, Berkeley.  Prior to his position at Cal, he was the Assistant Dean for Diversity Outreach at Stanford University. He has significant experience in domestic and international undergraduate admissions, and a track record of applying best practices in outreach and recruitment strategies, developing inclusive office environments, and advocating for underrepresented students. 

​Ashley Pallie is the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Caltech in Pasadena, California. She graduated from Scripps College (CA) and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University (CA). With 15-years of experience in college admissions, Ashley’s expertise lies in diversity, equity, and inclusion with a particular passion for helping institutions achieve their diversity recruitment goals. Prior to Caltech, Ashley was the Director of Recruitment at Pomona College for almost 7 years and Associate Director at Scripps College for 6 years.

​Tamar Adegbile is the Director of Student Well-being at Avenues Silicon Valley. ​​She has more than two decades of college counseling experience having previously served as the Director of College Counseling at the Cate School in Carpinteria, California, and in her role as Upper School Dean at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. A native of New York, Tamar also served on the college counseling team at Riverdale Country School. She began her career in college admissions, with positions at Columbia University and Vassar College.
