Welcome New TKA Familes and Students! Currently, we are expecting 160 new students this fall (74 in 6th grade, 16 in 7th grade, 4 in 8th grade, 53 in 9th grade, 9 in 10th grade, 3 in 11th grade, and 1 in 12th grade)

 

Semester 2 Report Cards Now In Portal! Please note that all progress reports and report cards for the 2011-2012 year will be available through June 30, 2012.  Please SAVE A PDF COPY of the final Semester 2 Report Card before that time.  Those applying for CSF or CJSF next fall will need copies of the Semester 2 Report Card to submit with their application.

Lost & Found:  Tables containing all belongings left on campus, in the locker rooms, or in the cubbies are in front of the SAO today through Friday, June 15.  Any unclaimed items will go to a charity on Friday, June 15, at 3:00 p.m.

 

Student Medications:  Student medications that have been kept in the SAO first aid room during the school year should now be picked up in the Main Office.  The Main Office is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

 

From the Business Office:  The first 2012-2013 tuition payment is due on July 1st.  This payment must be received in the Business Office no later than Tuesday, July 10, to avoid a late fee.  Each family will receive an email this month reviewing their tuition payment amount according to the payment plan choice on the Contract of Agreement.  Several payment options will also be reviewed in this email.  Please note that an Intuit Payment Network online payment should not be scheduled until this email is received.  Also, the 2012-2013 ACH monthly payment form is linked here and available on our website forms page under Quicklinks.  We appreciate your assistance in reading and following specific instructions.  Please email MaryAnn Palm (maryann.palm@tka.org) for questions after receiving this tuition email.

PARENT VOLUNTEER CORNER

 

Art Show Volunteers:  Thank you to all our parents and volunteers who made our art show a success!  With your generosity and selflessness, you helped make our art gallery beautiful and helped us end our year in a spectacular way.  The students and I are very grateful.  - Mrs. Cindi Sweet, TKA Art Teacher

 

Family Fee Reimbursement for Volunteer Hours: Parents who have volunteered at TKA are eligible for a $100 reimbursement for 16 hours of service per year, per student.  Please complete this form and submit to the Main Office no later than Friday, June 15.  The form can also be found at www.tka.org/handouts.  We GREATLY appreciate all your efforts to help where needed.  Thank you!



CLASS SPECIFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS 

 

8th Grade Promotion and 12th Grade Graduation DVD/Photos: If you did not order a DVD, you can stop by the Main Office until Friday, June 15, to place your order, or you can mail a check to The King's Academy, Attn:  Promotion DVD Order, 562 N. Britton Avenue, Sunnyvale, 94085: The DVDs are $20 per copy (checks payable to "TKA") and will be mailed to you the end of July. You may review the Len Conrad pictures and order prints online at www.lcsp.net using event code "kings8gd12" (8th grade) and event code "kings12gd12" (12th grade) by Monday, June 11. 

 

11th and 12th Grade - JSB Photos Now Available in Main Office:  The office is open 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

ACADEMIC AND COLLEGE COUNSELING

 

Attention Rising Juniors: If you are looking for a game plan to get started on the college search and admissions process  Junior Power Camp may be just the  program for you!  There will be 2 sessions available, the week of July 9th or the week of July 16th with optional PSAT prep included. Scholarship Opportunity:  A new scholarship opportunity listed in Naviance is the Veteran Supportive Services Agency, Inc. Scholarship for students who are children, grandchildren or relatives of US Armed Forces Veterans. Details may be found in Naviance or in the College Counseling office. The Junior High Fall Musical!  The Junior High Drama Department proudly announces our Fall Musical: Aladdin Jr.!  Performances: November 1-3.  Auditions are the week of August 20.  Open to all full time and ISP 6th-8th grade students.  Look for more details in your Summer mailing or email Mrs. Maureen Ghiossi. 

 

Announcing....The High School Fall Play: It's a Wonderful Life. Auditions: September 11-12.  Performances: November 14 - 17.  Open to all 9th-12th grade students

Varsity Basketball Tryouts for summer league are Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the TKA Gym.  If you have interest in playing varsity basketball next year, we encourage you to be there.   

 

Girls Summer Basketball Practice:  All new freshmen are welcome to join on Saturday, June 9, from 12:00-2:30 p.m.  We will continue practice the week of June 11 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and the week of June 18 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

 

TKA Summer Camps: Click here to read about our many summer sport camps and to register online. TKA camps are led by our top coaches and will fill up quickly. 

 

Summer Workouts: If you are interested in participating in any of the sports listed below at The King's Academy, click here for summer workout information and coach contact information.  Please contact the coach as soon as possible to find out how to get involved during the summer months. All incoming freshmen (which include former TKA 8th graders), can begin participation on June 9 per CIF/CCS rules. All summer practices and games end during the dead period of July 30 – August 12.
