8th Grade Christmas Event

Dear 8th Graders and 8th Grade Parents,

We are very excited to announce that we will be having our annual 8th Grade Christmas event very soon.  Our event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20 (the last day of finals), and will go from 3:00 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m.  The event will include an early dinner for the students at Kukar's House of Pizza and some time at Christmas in the Park with ice skating (optional at an additional cost) and conclude with watching the new Star Wars movie at the Tech Museum Imax dome.

The cost for this event will be $25.00 per student which will include dinner and the movie for each student.  The actual cost of the event is a more than this, but we will be using some of the class funds raised at the carnival to keep the per student cost to $25.00.

We have put on hold a number of seats for the 7:00 p.m. showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on the day of the event.  However, these seats are only being held for us until November 21.  Therefore, we need to get a count of the number of students who are going to attend the event by then.  The theater is not terribly large and the showing is very likely to be sold out , so we need to get our seats locked in by the deadline.

The permission slip is linked here. If you are planning to attend, please fill it out and return it to Mr. Lanning along with $25 absolutely no later than MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, so that we can get an accurate count to the movie theater on time.

We are also looking for chaperones for this event.  If you are interested in chaperoning, please email Mr. Lanning at  While we wish we could make the evening completely free for any adult who chaperones, our budget simply will not allow it.  However, we will only ask that you pay for your movie ticket of $13.00. Alternatively, if you would like to chaperone and just come for dinner, help watch kids at Christmas in the Park ,and skip the movie, that is fine too and that would be free.

Please email us at or if you have any questions.
