SPIRITUAL LIFE & SERVICE Today in Chapel: We were able to worship alongside some of our seniors who virtually recorded a worship session together. We had our first installment of the Hot Ones challenge, a spicy chicken wing eating contest with Student Council and an introduction to Spirit Week! Our wonderful Assistant Dean of Students, Mrs. Stephanie Huber, was our chapel speaker. Mrs. Huber challenged us to go deeper in our personal faith and not be okay with the "it is what it is" attitude through diving deeper into 2 Peter 1. Home Group Questions:
2020-2021 Service: Service is a critical component of TKA's educational experience, and all high school students at The King's Academy are required to complete service hours annually as part of their graduation requirements. Details found at www.tka.org/service2020.

VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS Junior High Play - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs of the Black Forest:
ATHLETICS Attention High School Students! The King's Academy is considering creating our very eSports team! eSports is rapidly growing in popularity around the world and has trickled down to the high school level. eSports is a sanctioned Varsity sport by the NFHS(National Federation of High School Athletics) and the state of California. The compan, PlayVS, is the official High School partner for eSports. There is even a High School State Championship.
Our first step in this process is to see if there is enough genuine interest to get this program off the ground. Just as our athletic teams, the eSports team will have practices, a sports fee, a coach and competitions with the same expectations and commitment of any other sport. If we have enough interest, we will take the next step in forming the team. The goal is to have a team that would compete this school year. The five games available for competition are: League of Legends, Rocket League, FIFA 21, Madden 21 and SMITE.
The coach of our team will be our very own Jerico Horca! Mr. Horca works in our IT department and has considerable experience in competitive gaming himself. His expertise and knowledge of the eSports world is extremely valuable!
The signup will end Monday, February 8. TKA Featured in NBC Bay Area News Story "Santa Clara County Youth Sports Guidelines Leave Athletes Disappointed." The King's Academy is a Christ-centered school that inspires academic excellence, servant leadership, and enduring relationships.
