SPEECH & PERFORMANCE VIDEOS Speakers: Email a written copy of the speech and a video of you delivering your speech to kriss.hayward@tka.org. Performers: Email a video of you or your entire group performing. Follow all mask and social distancing protocols if you videotape together. Video Instructions: Upload your video to Google Drive. Make sure the sharing settings allow anyone at TKA to view, so judges can view your video. Don't worry about the video quality. Just be sure the sound is clear. Send the video link to kriss.hayward@tka.org. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: - Number Selected: Typically, two student speakers and two sets of performers (individual or group) are selected for the graduation program. While this is a guideline, there could be exceptions, depending on the pool of applicants.
- Program Fit: The content of your speech and the musical selection are considered for how well they fit with the nature of the graduation program. This ceremony seeks to honor God, our graduates, and their families. It is the largest TKA public event, viewed by extended family and friends from distances near and far. We want every aspect of the ceremony to represent The King's Academy with dignity.
- Student(s) Character: Students selected to speak or perform represent their entire class. To that end, the overall character of the student is taken into consideration. Note: Any conduct issues may impact the ability to speak/perform even after the selection.
- Editing: If you are selected, we reserve the right to ask you to edit or change portions of your speech or musical piece.
SELECTION COMMITTEE: The selection committee includes the Director of Spiritual Life, Director of Marketing & Communications, Senior Class Advisors, College & Academic Counseling Representative, VPA Representative, High School Principal, and the Dean of Students. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kriss Hayward, Director of Marketing & Communications, before the audition. The King's Academy is a Christ-centered school that inspires academic excellence, servant leadership, and enduring relationships. |
