Know Families You Would Like to See at TKA in 2021-2022? Your support in telling friends and neighbors about TKA is invaluable! 6th grade is a great time to transition to our school and experience the cumulative benefits of seven years at TKA! If you have friends who are thinking of enrolling their children at The King's Academy, please remind them that the application deadline is February 28. World Language Placement Testing for Current TKA Students: Students who have had instruction in or exposure to French, Mandarin or Spanish, but have not yet begun the first year of a UC-approved course, may take a proficiency test to determine the appropriate language level to enroll in for the 2021-2022 school year.
Deadline for Re-enrollment is Monday, March 1, 2021 - An Enrollment Packet for 2021-2022 year is due for returning students. This process includes an agreement for tuition, along with other pertinent information such as payment plan details. Note that payment of the $1,000 tuition deposit is necessary for the completion of re-enrollment for next year. ($100 late fee after March 15, 2021)
Congratulations to these students for achieving membership in the CSF or CJSF Scholarship Federations based on their Fall 2020 grades. This is a statewide organization that recognizes scholarship and citizenship.
Celebrating Black History Month: Check out this TKA webpage with lots of interesting information about Black History! View the Bible Museum short video about the role of the Bible in lives of African Americans. Chris Seguritan, Digital Art Teacher, recently created these designs for Mbonga collectibles, figures that represent the immense diversity and cultures in the Black community. PSAT Testing for Grades 8-10 Students will test in socially distanced groups following required safety protocols. We have safely administered the SAT, PSAT and mock AP exams at TKA this school year. More details with specific directions regarding room assignments and safety protocols will be sent to families and students closer to the testing date. PSAT 10 for 10th grade: The PSAT 10 standardized test is scheduled for all 10th grade students on the TKA campus on Friday, March 5, 2021. Please do not schedule any appointments that day. Students do not need to register. Exams have been ordered for all students. Students in the Blue and Gold cohorts received a paper copy of the PSAT 10 Student Guide in their English classes this week. White cohort students can access the digital copy of the student guide. Parents can read about the advantages of taking the PSAT 10 here.
PSAT 8/9 for 8th and 9th grade: The PSAT 8/9 standardized test is scheduled for all 8th and 9th grade students on the TKA campus on Friday, March 12, 2021. Please do not schedule any appointments that day. Students do not need to register. Exams have been ordered for all students. Do you enjoy history or sci-fi? If so, then the Model-Making Club is for you! Come join us and relieve your stress in a positive & creative way. In this club, students can come share their interests and learn new techniques and skills with the model-making community here at TKA! All skill levels and students are welcome!
