This Week in Senior Chapel: This week, the seniors again have their own separate chapel time with senior-led worship. The speaker was TKA graduate, Erik Fortin, Class of 2000. Erik has worked in and out of the Bay Area in the tech industry for a variety of companies over the past 15 years, including Facebook. In his testimony, Erik shares how his decision four years ago, to trust God completely with his life, finally gave him the experience of love, peace, and freedom that wealth and worldly success had been unable to provide. Senior Homegroup Questions:
2020-2021 Service: Because service continues to be an element of who we are as a school, we are still asking our students to be creative and innovative in finding ways to serve others. To make this realistic in our current situation, the hours we ask our students to devote to serving others have been considerably reduced. At this time, we are requiring each of our high school students to serve at least 15 hours. Details found at www.tka.org/service2020.
New Service Opportunity on Friday, March 26! TKA Cross Country Results From Saturday, February 27 vs. Harker & Notre Dame, San Jose: Thanks to all of you who came out to race. We had a great time racing once again. The course was a 2-mile course that started and finished on the track and went around the baseball and softball fields twice. A shout out to all of you who helped make this a smooth and fun event. Sincerely, Coach Tompkins Results linked here. TKA's 1st eSports League of Legends Match: For our first League of Legends match of the season, we faced off against St. Patrick's Regional Secondary School, a school based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Unbeknownst to us until we signed onto the match, we were about to face off against one of the better teams in our league. After getting obliterated in the first game, we rallied during our timeout and reminded ourselves to have strong communication, to trust in each other's abilities, and be patient. Jingshi Li, our team captain and a senior in high school, led our team to a commanding victory in the second game by calling for calculated plays against our opponent. At the end of the night, we were able to force a draw against one of the better teams in our league. We learned that if we could force a draw on one of the most experienced teams in the league, we'll be able to conquer anything in our way as long as we remember to focus and trust in each other. All of our players are hungry to secure their first official win this upcoming Tuesday, March 9th. Go Knights! Best, Coach J (Jerico Horca) Photo taken 3/3/21 by Joe Maemone.
