| This Week in Seniors-Only Chapel: While the rest of The King's Academy met in the Gym for Club and to hear speeches from the candidates for Student Council President, the senior class had a very special chapel in the theater. The seniors were led in worship by a group of their fellow seniors, and then heard from some of their peers. Senior Krystal Curtiss shared from the the book of Colossians and other scriptures about what it means to have genuine faith in Jesus Christ. Senior Michael Rosa talked about how Christians should interact with the LGBTQ community, sharing from Jesus' encounter with the woman caught in adultery. He reminded us that Christ always treated people with grace, mercy, and love, while still addressing the sin in their lives. It was a very special chapel time! |
|
|
This Week in 6th-11th Grade Chapel: Student Council provided a fun final rally where students enjoyed zany relay-race games that included plunger-propelled sledding, whipped cream flipping, gunny-sack drag-racing, and balloon popping. These were followed by both student and teacher rounds of broom hockey. In between events, the Robotics team used their homemade t-shirt cannon to shoot shirts into the crowds! We ended by hearing speeches from the three students who are running for Student Body President. Then students were dismissed to Home Groups to vote for President as well as to elect their Class Officers for the 2022-23 school year. Missed All or Part of Service Week? All service hours missed during Service Week 2022 need to be made up in order to receive your graduation service credit for the school year 2021 - 2022. Each day missed on a 4-day service trip requires 8.5 service hours be made up. Each day missed on the 3-day service trip requires 11.5 service hours be made up. Hours MUST be served at a Christ-centered church or organization and must meet the requirements posted on the TKA website (Service 2021 - 2022 tab) under the heading Eligibility Requirements for Service with Your Local Church. Please contact Mrs. Quant at donna.quant@tka.org with any questions. |
