Japan Service Trip
(This trip is on hold for 2018.)
This trip is open to juniors and seniors. We are partnering with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to serve the people in and around the city of Tokyo, Japan. We plan on ministering to the homeless, promoting the service at a YWAM church, partaking in a YWAM church ministry Easter Service, distributing Bibles to those in the community, and leading worship during services that week.
Japan is the second largest “unreached for Christ” population in the world. Tokyo is one of the largest and wealthy cities in the world. Serving in Japan is unlike any other service trip you might encounter. The people you are ministering to are not necessarily poor in material wealth, but they are completely destitute in their spiritual condition. We are going to Japan to plant seeds that will one day sprout. We may not see the immediate results that are all too often seen on trips to poorer Latin American countries. However, the people of Japan are dying without Christ and need for us to bring them the Gospel. Romans 10:14-15 says, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
- Minister to those in Japan who need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ through the avenues of multiple ministry opportunities.
- Develop an awareness of the need for Christ in the country of Japan.
- Introduce the students to the vision and work of YWAM, so that they may consider a future in ministry whether short term or long term.
