Grade 10-11: WOODLEAF RETREAT
Every September, The King’s Academy sets aside three days for the 10th and 11th grades to attend Young Life's Woodleaf camp. From Friday to Sunday, students are challenged by a speaker, worship together in Club meetings, play crazy team games, enjoy fellowship and sharing during "cabin time," and run wild over Woodleaf's extensive campus during free time.
Woodleaf Retreat is a great way to begin the school year, and we are thrilled to kick off the year there with the sophomores, juniors, and staff during a full and exciting weekend. This is a time to renew friendships and make new ones, a time to play hard and spend uninterrupted time with caring teachers and staff. It is also a time to consider personal faith, to hear and discuss truths about God and His desires for our lives. What a weekend! There is the BLOB in the lake, the zip lines, sports, great food, club meetings and entertainment, times to listen, talk, laugh and pray.
Woodleaf, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains near the town of Challenge, is one of the finest Young Life camps in the nation. Students sleep in cabins with a staff chaperone and eat family-style in a dining hall, served by a group of seniors selected to assist during the weekend.
