Grade 12: SENIOR RETREATS
Recognizing the important transition students make individually and as a group their senior year, The King's Academy takes the senior class away on two retreats: one immediately after school begins in the fall and one just before graduation in the spring. Plus, seniors have the option of going to London with their classmates between semesters.
Senior Fall Escape
Koinonia, a Christian Conference Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is a wonderful time of fellowship for the senior class during the first weekend of school. This is a time to renew friendships and make new ones, a time to play hard and spend uninterrupted time with caring teachers and staff. It is also a time to consider personal faith, to hear and discuss truths about God and His desires for our lives.
The Senior Retreat takes place at Forest Home in Ojai Valley near Santa Barbara from Saturday to Wednesday at the end of May each year, prior to graduation. This final class bonding retreat blesses our seniors with the opportunity to spend five days together enjoying various activities including kayaking, mountain biking, a day trip to Disneyland and a luau dinner at the beach. Each year, this event has been very meaningful to students and has exceeded their expectations. Seniors come away with some deep and special memories of their classmates as well as the staff members that attend.
