Summer Sports Camp Descriptions
The Kids Built For Others Football Camp is designed to make your young athlete a better football player and better person. The camp will stress positive coaching techniques and will set aside time for group discussion about what it means to be a servant leader, how to treat others with respect, and how to be an example of Jesus. The camp will focus on developing speed and agility while emphasizing individual passing, catching, and blocking skills. Specialized position training will also be addressed. Campers will have an opportunity to participate in 7-on-7 scrimmages and full-team football games. The camp will be led by six-time CCS Champion and TKA's Head Football Coach, Pete Lavorato, and the rest of his 2018 TKA CCS Champion football staff and players. Coach Lavorato stresses that “All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
TKA’s Head Varsity Volleyball Coach, Joshua Burkhardt, is directing this camp. This camp is an all skills camp for beginning to intermediate players. Each session features fun drills, competition, prizes and awards. Players will improve fundamental skills in footwork, passing, serving, defense, and attacking. Using tested and proven USA volleyball models, our trained coaches will foster strong volleyball skills through fun drills and competitive games.
Our TKA soccer camp is run by TKA's Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach, John Slegg, and will be assisted by current TKA players and coaches. It will be a fun time of soccer training at an age appropriate level, all while being encouraged and mentored for who the camper is as a Child of God. Focus will be on the development and refining of basic soccer skills such as attacking, defense, possession, dribbling and team play. There will be opportunities to compete against other campers and small-sided scrimmages and games.
