Meet the VPA StafF

STACEY REED: VPA Lead · Dance Teacher · 4 years at TKA
Mrs. Reed teaches all levels of Junior High and High School Dance. Stacey is a TKA alumna who then received her B.A. in Dance from San Jose State University. She has been teaching dance for 12 years within public dance studios and elementary schools. Stacey feels blessed and overjoyed to be continuing for another year!

RHONDA IRWIN: VPA Coordinator · 11 years at TKA
As a parent, Mrs. Irwin always found herself organizing some aspect of her children’s activities. Her many years of playing in the college band, accompanying orchestra and show choir, choral singing, teaching elementary children’s music classes and working behind the scenes of drama productions allows her to connect with students pursuing this aspect of education. She attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering.

MARK ANDERSON: Art Teacher · 19 years at TKA
Mr. Anderson earned a B.S. from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, majoring in Art Education with a minor in History. He also did graduate work at Bethany University in Scotts Valley. He has been teaching full-time since 1972 and has taught ceramics, calligraphy, and linear perspective drawing since the beginning of his teaching career using the curricula he developed for these three studio art classes.

RYAN BORTZ: Band & Orchestra Director · 10 years at TKA
Mr. Bortz earned his B.A. in music, with a concentration in music education, from Pepperdine University. Additionally, he has an M.A. in education, with a concentration in curriculum and instruction, from CSU, Northridge, and a Master of Music degree, with a concentration in instrumental conducting, from Sam Houston State University.

LOTTE DEDEAUX : Vocal Music Director · 4 years at TKA
Mrs. Dedeaux teaches High School Concert choir and Knightshine. She has been teaching for almost 27 years. Mrs. Dedeaux graduated from West Valley College, Azusa Pacific University, and received her teaching credential from APU. "I love my job, I'm crazy about my kids and my husband. God has blessed me with my dream job and an amazing team to work with here at TKA."

ABIGAIL DeGRAAF: Theatre 1-4, Speaking with Confidence 6 and 7-8, Video Editing and Production, Director of HS & JH Plays
Miss DeGraaf has just moved to the Bay Area from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia where she received a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She comes to us with 18 years of experience on the stage, most of which took place in the Puget Sound area of Washington State where she has lived nearly all her life. She has loved theatre ever since she can remember, taking every opportunity to audition and act in plays since she was in elementary school. Some of her favorites include Laura from The Glass Menagerie, Hannah in Consumption, and Antipholus of Syracuse from A Comedy of Errors.

MARIA HANSEN-KIVIJARVI: Set Design & Build Lead · 5 years at TKA  
Mrs. Hansen-Kivijarvi has a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Art Education and Teaching the Finnish language and a professional background in Pottery, Children’s Ministry and Finnish Translation.  After starting as a volunteer for TKA’s first junior high production in 2009, she has been the lead Scenic Artist for more than 15 TKA shows, and is now our in-house Set Design and Build Lead. Part of the week, she will also be coordinating VPA activities, so look for her in the VPA office if she is not behind the stage!

SARAH HONG: String Ensemble, 6th Grade Strings Teacher · 4 years at TKA
Mrs. Hong has a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from The Julliard School in New York. She also earned an Artist Certificate in Chamber Music from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Mrs. Hong has been teaching cello, chamber music, and has been an orchestra coach for nineteen years.

CHRIS SEGURITAN: Digital Art Teacher · 8 years at TKA
Mr. Seguritan teaches Digital Design, Introduction to Digital Painting, 3D Modeling with ZBrush. He received his bachelor's degree in Digital Arts and Animation with a minor in Illustration from Cogswell Polytechnical College. Mr. Seguritan has worked professionally in the art field for more than 10 years and has taught courses for 7 years.
