The Visual & Performing Arts Department (VPA) seeks to glorify God as we foster an environment where students can discover and develop their God-given talents to the fullest. We share these talents not for our own glory but as a spiritual act of worship of our Creator. (Romans 12:1; Colossians 3:17; 1 Cor. 10:31).
The King’s Academy Theatre is dedicated to presenting diverse performance opportunities, building an artistic community, preparing students for post-secondary endeavors, and developing the next generation of theatre artists and audiences. We create in community, develop critical thinking skills, share the human experience, take initiative in leadership, train for excellence in artistry, and glorify God.
The King's Academy Theatre produces four productions annually: a high school play, a high school musical, a junior high play, and a junior high musical. In addition, the Theatre Showcase is in May. There are currently three multi-level courses offered: Fundamentals of Drama (High School), Drama 2 (High School), and Fundamentals of Drama (Junior High). TKA Theatre has an active ITS (International Thespian Society) chapter, technical theatre opportunities for students, and a TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) Acting Troupe, Jesters.
