Service 2021-2022

Servant Leadership

At The King's Academy, servant leadership is one of the key elements of our mission: The King’s Academy is a Christ-centered school that inspires academic excellence, servant leadership, and enduring relationships.

At TKA, we believe service is at the very heart of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. For TKA, the goal of service is not to go somewhere and simply perform a service, but rather to engage in the full experience of service and to return having been transformed into a servant leader for life.

Service is a critical component of TKA's educational experience, and all high school students at The King's Academy are required to participate in TKA's Annual Service Week.

Service Week 2021 - 2022

November 5, 2021

Dear High School Parents and Students,

Thank you for your patience as we have been updating our TKA graduation requirements for service.  Below you will find information regarding changes to our service program and details for TKA Service Week: April 11 - 14, 2022.  There will be NO service component on Good Friday, April 15.

Beginning this school year (2021 - 2022), students will be required to participate in our annual service week in a full-time capacity to fulfill their graduation service requirement.  TKA Service Week is an academic week on our school calendar, and as such, we expect all high school students to attend.  We will no longer offer alternative service opportunities to complete the graduation service requirement. While we value all of the sacrificial service your students participate in, the intent of TKA Service Week is to serve together, as a TKA community, which supports our mission of creating enduring relationships.

Due to the many complications and unforeseen travel restrictions posed by Covid-19, the administrative team has recently decided that Service Week 2022 will include only local service trip opportunities. The travel trips that we previously announced to the students have been put on hold. We appreciate your support and understanding.

Therefore, this year we will be serving in the immediate Bay Area only. We are very excited about all the high school students serving our community together at different locations during this week. Teams of students and staff will be sent to serve at a variety of organizations Monday - Thursday of Service Week.  There will be no cost to families for participation in Service Week 2022.

More details will follow soon including information about the registration process for the trips.  Thank you for your support as we navigate our current times.
